hetras now provides you the ability to manage your credit card transactions via the Account Receivable module. When this function is enabled, each credit card payment made to a guest folio or invoice is also posted as an offsetting charge transaction to the Credit Card company AR account. The advantage for the accounting department is that they can track the money owed and paid by the credit card company/bank via the AR module. They can also record credit card commissions, and include these additional transactions in the hetras financial reports.
 
In order to enable this functionality, you will need to define which payment transaction codes will be sent to AR, and to which AR account the postings should be made. We support one AR account per credit card transaction code, but allow multiple credit card transaction codes to be mapped to a single AR account.
 
For every Credit Card account, a respective profile needs to be created (our recommendation is to use Company profiles) and that profile needs to be “AR enabled”. Currently, the setup of this functionality needs to be undertaken by our customer service department. However, in the future, the configuration and activation of this module can be performed by our customers directly.
 
Please note that we also provide the possibility to import past credit card charges into AR. If you are interested in this, please speak to your customer representative.

In the housekeeping module, we allow the housekeeping team to manually register the Clean/Dirty Status of a room. Now, they can (optionally) enter an Occupancy Status (VAC/OCC) of any room as well.
 
If the occupancy status entered by housekeeping does not match the front desk reservation status (i.e. a guest is checked into the room in front office, but houskeeping change the status to VAC), hetras records this room status as “discrepant”.
 
This status is now shown on the housekeeping screen, and the rooms can be filtered by service type. This allows the housekeeping and front office teams to easily identify discrepant rooms and investigate the cause for the discrepancy.

In previous versions, when creating a new reservation or requoting a reservation, it took a little too much time to build up the rate calendar showing the hotel availability status across all dates, generally slowing down the reservation process. With this release, the rate calendar has been enhanced and is building this data significantly faster.
